Whilst it may seem a little unkind to tear into someone’s marketing efforts, this email, which I received this morning, is rather poor. For a company that claims localization skills and works with Fortune 500 companies, you would have thought they could afford to get a native to look over their marketing emails. Even a spell-checker would have spotted the two typos. That’s inexcusable!
Relative Director?
Docuument?
Interrpreting? (looked like interrupting on first read) 😀
No, sorry. School report says “Could do better”. Also, all the weird characters you can see in the quoted email appeared in the original. Would you hire these guys? :clown:
Whilst I realise that their English is a lot better than my Chinese, I would hasten to point out that I am not asking them for work. If I was, I think I’d do the smart thing and hire a native.

I agree these mistakes are hilarious. For someone working in this domain it is inexcusable to admit these mistakes.
Yes, we get these through a lot, I hit Delete as soon as I see them. I am sorry to deprecate someone’s marketing efforts, but on the other hand this business is about quality, so hard luck, they’re in the wrong business. The other thing that irks me is that our company provides ONLY Serbian-English translation services, and the fact that these guys are offering Chinese, Hungarian, Tamil, whatever tells me they have just mass-mailed (probably using one of those infernal translation company databases) without bothering to find out anything about us, and so we have nothing further to discuss…
🙂 I just received another one of these to one of my other email addresses. No changes. Exactly the same email. Ho hum
